I. Company History: From Breaking Monopolies to Driving Domestic Substitution

JILONG’s story began in 1993. At that time, China’s fusion splicer market was dominated by imported brands, and equipment prices were exorbitant. To change this, the company’s predecessor, Kelong Company, was founded and independently developed China’s first-generation fusion splicer, the KL-100, in the same year. Back when the average annual income was only around 150 dollars, imported splicers cost hundreds of thousands of yuan. The KL-100 was priced at roughly half of its imported counterparts, marking the beginning of domestic fusion splicer R&D in China. In 1996, Nanjing JILONG Communication was formally established, ending the country’s long-standing reliance on imported fusion splicers.

Entering the new millennium, JILONG revolutionized splicer design in 2000 by shifting from horizontal to vertical form factors, launching the more compact, fully automatic vertical model KL-200. In 2006, the fourth-generation splicer KL-260 was released and successfully entered European, North American, and other international markets.

A pivotal turning point came in 2008, when JILONG introduced its first handheld OTDR, the KL-6210, filling a gap in the domestic OTDR market. The KL-6210 transformed JILONG from a single-product fusion splicer provider into a comprehensive solution supplier with end-to-end capabilities in optical network construction and diagnostics, significantly broadening the company’s technical depth, product range, and market competitiveness.

In 2011, JILONG won the title of national “high-tech enterprise”. In 2015, it became the first listed company in China’s fusion splicer sector. In 2016, JILONG was recognized as a famous trademark in Jiangsu Province. In 2019, JILONG engineers were invited to participate in drafting the national standard for fusion splicers, GB/T 17570-2019, underscoring the company’s influence and technology leadership in industry standard-setting.

On the product front, JILONG has rolled out successive splicer generations—from horizontal to vertical, from the first to the tenth generation—continuously adapting to network construction needs across different eras, including “fiber replacing copper,” 3G, 5G, and gigabit optical networks. In 2023, the company held new product launch in Shenzhen, unveiling the tenth-generation splicers (260T, 300T, 300X), the fourth-generation FTTx OTDR (KL-6100), and a range of fiber tools.

In 2024, JILONG pushed further into the high-end trunk market with the 280T all-rounder middle trunk line fusion splicer and the OTDR Monster KL-6300, extending its product matrix into more demanding trunk-line engineering. In 2025, marking its 33rd anniversary, JILONG released an anniversary product series including the 260T, KL-6100, and KL-33F, strengthening its technical depth in FTTx splicing and testing.

Riding on 34 years of technical expertise, JILONG took the lead in launching the 300T 6-motor trunk splicer. Employing state-of-the-art 6-motor fiber core alignment technology and intelligent algorithms, the 300T delivers measured splicing loss consistently 0.01dB—demonstrating the new strength of Chinese-made trunk splicing equipment in high-end applications.

II. Four Product Lines: A One-Stop Solution for Optical Construction and Maintenance

JILONG has built four major product systems: fusion splicers, OTDRs, optical measurement instruments, and fiber optic hand tools. Going forward, the company will introduce RF measurement products, covering national and provincial trunk projects, FTTx deployment, security surveillance, and routine installation and maintenance.

1. Fusion Splicers

The lineup includes the tenth-generation 260T, 300T, and 300X, the ninth-generation 280T, and the 500E Mini. The 300T is a 6-motor trunk model supporting long-haul trunk splicing; the 280T is a 4-motor middle trunk line model; the 260T and 500E target FTTx and installation/maintenance scenarios, with the 500E weighing just 1 kg for aerial work. The entire series features all-metal bodies for durability and drop resistance, along with fast splicing/heating and long battery life.

2. OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer)

JILONG OTDRs serve installation and maintenance (I&M) of trunk fibers (core networks, MANs, mobile fronthaul and backhaul) as well as fault troubleshooting in access networks and FTTx. The KL-6100 targets FTTx installation, with a 31 dB dynamic range, event dead zone as low as 1.5m, and attenuation dead zone as low as 5m. The KL-6200 supports medium- and long-haul trunks, with a 32dB dynamic range and 1m event dead zone, and integrates an optical power meter, light source, visual fault locator, network test, and fiber inspection probe. The KL-6300 is an intelligent trunk model that immediately broke into the high-end OTDR market upon launch, boasting a dynamic range up to 45 dB, a 0.8m event dead zone, and a 2.5m attenuation dead zone — outperforming most competing OTDRs on the market. Smaller dead zones mean more precise fault localization and more accurate measurement of fiber attenuation and reflection. The KL-6100, KL-6200, and KL-6300 can detect consecutive events on 8×3 m, 9×3 m, and 10×3 m fiber patch cords respectively in fully automatic mode, placing their detection capability at the industry’s advanced level.

Notably, one key advantage of the KL-6300 is its standard iOLA (Eagle Eye) function. Imported EXFO models offer their “iOLM” feature only as an optional add-on costing an extra 2200 dollars, whereas JILONG includes iOLA as standard on the KL-6300 — free for every user.

3. Optical Measurement Instruments

The highlight is JILONG’s new 4.3-inch high-end instrument series: the OLS-33 optical light source, OPM-33V optical power meter with VFL, OPM-33P wavelength-division optical power meter, OVA-33 optical attenuator, and FOT-33 optical multimeter. This series features comprehensively upgraded performance parameters, with significantly improved accuracy and stability over the previous generation. Equipped with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and large-capacity battery, and supporting user self-calibration, it adapts to a wide range of fiber link testing needs.
